After the loss of our canine friend Rex, we chose a cremation service with the intention of keeping a traditional urn at home with us. However, the spot in the yard where Rex used to spend most of his time felt empty. We decided to bring life back to Rex’s place… with Rex himself, and we chose a young walnut tree sapling.

What should I do if I don’t know which tree to choose?

If you’re unsure which species to choose, we offer specialized consulting services, guiding you through the decision-making process based on your needs, the climate of the location where you’ll plant the sapling, and your experience in caring for outdoor plants.
What kind of materials are used to create the urns?
The urns we offer are biodegradable. Our partners make them from a type of plastic derived from organic materials, designed to have a minimal environmental impact.
Is it true that ashes can harm a plant if buried beneath it? How does the biodegradable urn prevent this?
Ash has a very high pH level, which can inhibit plant growth. However, the biodegradable plastic used to make our partners’ urns decomposes slowly, starting with small cracks. This allows the ashes to gradually mix with the soil. This slow dispersion process helps balance the soil’s reactions: soil acts as a strong buffer and can neutralize the high pH of the ashes, it just needs time. Additionally, rainwater that penetrates the soil gradually dissolves the sodium and potassium salts, which then become beneficial and useful for plant growth. Placing ashes in these urns is very different from burying ashes directly in open soil.
How long can the urn be kept before use?
The urn should be stored in a dry place. If exposed to light, the color of the bioplastic may change slightly. The urn comes with a 2-year warranty.
